Christopher Hall

My photos from around San Francisco. A way to annoy myself as I struggle with various templates that I don't like and only barely present things the way I want. This latest version has a comments feature which actually works, so relieve my workday tedium and make a comment today.

Warehouse 6

I really love this old warehouse, the inside of which is just full of grafitti. It takes a bit of work to get to, (e.g. climbing through a hole in a fence and dodging security guards on the way), it's part of a complex of several abandoned buildings in an old shipyard.

Manhattan Looking South

Taken from the observation deck at Rockefeller Center. The glimmer of red from the right side of the Empire State Building is a reflection from the setting sun. The observation deck recently re-opened, it's been closed since the mid 80's. More pics of the Manhattan skyline to follow.

NYC Streetart

Fame Game.
The slightly torn pasteup by Faro, underneath, something I liked a lot by Sync.
I saw a lot of Faro's pasteups allover the Bowery.
I love the fake grill above the door.

Manhattan

On Houston, near 7th.
Windows at the National Maritime Union Building.
Construction crane, and fading ad on a brick building, somewhere in Chelsea.
View of the neon sign at the Staten Island Ferry terminal. It was a great trip. I've got tons of photos I'll post in the coming days.

Li-Po

Yet another Chinatown dive bar, this one is on Grant. I think this has probably the best neon sign in all Chinatown.

Shipyard Day 5

Heating plant at the Hunters Point Shipyard.
Abandoned warehouse building.

I'm not too sure about this room, it was in the steel shop pictured yesterday, and I took the shot through a broken window.
Details of the huge furnace - the whole building is pictured above.

More Shipyard

I really liked this orange door, and how the sun hit the corrugated metal of the building.

This toilet is quite a long walk from the cranes seen in earlier posts, so you have to predict your bodily functions well in advance.

Viewed large (click on it) you can see the stamping on the metal from the foundry.

Steel Shop at the Shipyard

A couple of shots of the absoultely enormous Steel Shop at the abandoned Hunters Point Naval Shipyard. This building was easily the size of a city block, and maybe even larger. Everything at the shipyard was so big and there was so much space it was hard to really understand the scale of everything, even when you're standing right next to it.

Boilermaker School

At the Hunters Point Shipyard. There's so many pictures I took there, I'm not sure where to start with them all. But I'm rushed at work, so don't have a lot of time to post more now.
